Biography in Brief:

Dr. Chanseok Jeong joined the Department of Civil Engineering as an assistant professor from Fall 2013. Prior to joining the Catholic University of America (CUA), he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate and a Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 2011 to 2013. His research interests center around the high-performance computing associated with wave propagation analysis in solid media or fluid-saturated porous permeable solid media, as well as inverse problems. His current research activities include (1) earthquake engineering, (2) elastic wave-based enhanced oil recovery, (3) non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of infrastructure, and (4) geophysical inversion of a hydrocarbon reservoir.
